Contacting Us
You can reach us at (475) 203-3827 or find us at 15 Forest Pky, Shelton, CT 06484. We work out of that address and cover the surrounding area, including Derby (3 mi), Trumbull (4 mi), Ansonia (4 mi), Monroe (5 mi), Long Hill (5 mi), and the closer-in neighborhoods like all within about 7 to 9 miles southwest or south. Farther out we still take calls from Woodbridge, Easton, Sandy Hook, Oxford, and the towns beyond, up to roughly 17 miles in places like Branford Center.
If you're not sure whether your address falls inside our usual range, call and ask. We'd rather tell you straight than have you wait on a truck that's an hour away. Most of our work is scheduled, not same-day, so when you call it helps to know roughly what's wrong: a door that won't open, a spring that let go, an opener that runs but doesn't move the door, or a track that's bent or walked out of its bracket.
What We Will Not Do
We don't carry every part for every door on the first visit. A lot of houses in this area were built between 1952 and 2013, with most of that stock going up in the 1960s and 70s, and some of those doors run hardware that's been out of production for decades. If your spring size or track style is unusual, we may need to order the part, and we'll tell you that instead of forcing a part that's close enough.
We won't tell you to replace a door when a repair will hold. A cracked bottom panel on an otherwise sound door, or a bent roller track that can be reset, doesn't need a full tear-out. On the other side, we also won't keep patching a door that's actively dangerous - a spring under the wrong tension, or a cable that's frayed past the point of trusting it, gets fixed right or gets replaced, not taped over.
We don't do new construction or garage additions, and we don't handle anything that isn't the door, opener, or the track and hardware that make them work. If the issue is the framing around the opening or the electrical feeding the opener, that's outside what we do, and we'll say so rather than take the job anyway.
The Short Version
We work on garage doors, springs, openers, tracks, and the cables and rollers that go with them
Based out of Shelton and covering the towns and neighborhoods within roughly 17 miles. Winters in this part of Connecticut fall into a severe cold climate band, and that matters for garage doors specifically - cold makes steel springs more brittle and stiffens the grease in older rollers and bearings, which is a big part of why the calls we get in January look different from the ones we get in July.
- 17 miles
Most of the houses we're called to were built decades ago, often in the 1960s or 70s
Which means a fair number of original doors and torsion setups still in service. That's the work. No history to tell beyond that, just the job in front of us and the area we drive.
